Tonight's RADIO WOWSVILLE program will include a tribute to the late, great Isaac Hayes — songwriter, Academy Award winner, blaxploitation icon, animated cartoon voice and lurve man.
Hayes, 65, died today in Memphis, Tennessee. Among his many varied accomplishments, he provided generations of FM disc jockeys much-needed opportunities to take bathroom and/or smoke breaks due to his long 12-to-20 minute explorations of songs such as "Ain't No Sunshine," "I Stand Accused" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix."
