nowhere near playlist 3.17.10 (special jesus music show with gina welch)

Former Charlottesville resident and University of Virginia MFA graduate Gina Welch stopped by my show to play some tunes and talk about her recent novel, In The Land Of Believers: An Insider's Extraordinary Journey Into The Heart Of The Evangelical Church. Gina and I have been friends since she started on this project, and it was truly a joy and an honor to have her on my show to discuss her wonderful tale, as well as to share some of her favorite music.

A lucky listener was able to call in and win a signed copy of the book donated by the UVA Bookstore, and I am grateful for the bookstore's contribution.

In celebration of Gina's visit, I prepared a playlist of rock and jazz tunes that mention Jesus/Christianity/God, though they're not all specifically devotional songs. Gina's selections — marked by asterisks — were a little less religious in scope, though that Clean song is about as heavenly as it can get.
