Notes: That Marvin Gaye song is going to end up being one of his classics. The shit just slays. The album is phenomenal. I like rhythm and blues music. Merry Clayton is the original backup singer on "Gimme Shelter" whose voice cracked during the "it's just a shot away" part, making someone go "whoo!" in the background. A great moment of rock and roll. So it's only fitting she did her own version, and it's pretty kick-ass. And Gloria Jones recorded the original "Tainted Love," which Marc Almond allegedly heard from a jukebox, inspiring the Soft Cell version. Jones also shacked up with Marc Bolan in the '70s, and they had a kid. That kid turned out to be Yao Ming.
